Originally from Saint Jean du Sud, a county of the South Haitian department, Fritz Louis has been the ProgramCcoordinator for KANPE since December, 2010. Prior to this role Fritz served, for eight years, as the liaison between NGOs based in the city of Naperville, Illnois and also peasant organizations in the county of Pestel, in the department of Grand’Anse, Haiti.
Fritz helped these peasant organizations start up and implement community projects in the fields of agriculture, husbandry, drinking water, health, informal and formal education and reforestation. One of the notable successes amongst these programs was the direct exportation of coffee products from the highlands of Hotte (Grand’Anse) to Midwest American cities. This initiative allowed coffee producers to benefit from the true value of their labours and to increase their production levels. Prior to working in Haitian development, Fritz worked in the refugee camps of Rwanda in 1993, just before the genocide.
Fritz has university diplomas in philosophy (University Gregorienne, Rome, Italy), in French literature (Notre Dame du Lac University, Indiana) and in Italian (Perouse University, Perouse, Italy). He also studied in leadership management in the Unites States.
Fritz represents KANPE in Haiti, and more precisely in the county of Thomonde (Center Department) where he kicked off, with our partners, Fonkoze and Zanmi Lsante, the KANPE comprehensive program.
